ALL EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD. WE ARE EVALUATING OUR CLASSES NOW, WITH THE INTENTION OF RESTARTING IN FALL OF 2022. PLEASE CHECK BACK IN SEPTEMBER FOR UPDATED INFORMATION.
Sunday School
Our education time for children begins at 9:15 AM with all participants singing God’s praise, led by our Music Minister, Joy-Leilani Garbutt. At 9:30 AM students go to their classes.
The Atrium (Ages 6 & Under)
The Atrium is a blessed place where children six and under can explore our Christian faith, spirituality, and God’s love using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based program. Children are presented a Biblical reading or parable along with an accompanying activity, then invited to explore its Biblical lesson on their own. In addition, students are introduced to: the preparation for worship, the liturgical colors, and the gestures and words they will see and hear in worship. They learn simple prayers and songs that are memorable and repeatable. Children are taught respect and how to be reverent in a space designed for their spiritual development.
Sunday School Classes I (Ages 7-9) and II (Ages 10-11)
Students in 1st through 6th grade learn Bible stories through reading and discussion, videos of bible stories and real-life scenarios, crafts and games, including computer-based games. We also help the children connect their faith to daily life with discussions of the children’s activities, experiences, and current events. Adult Forum
Start your week with a conversation that begins with a word from God and connects with your daily life. At adult forum, people in their 20s through their 90s share the strength of their faith and their deep questions.
Conversations on Faith & Life
Get recharged in the middle of the week with a delicious meal, an engaging conversation about pressing issues based on a podcast or short reading. We share scripture, our prayers, our laughter and longing.
Children’s Time
Parents can listen to the sermon while children ages 11 and younger go with other adults in the church to actively experience God’s word. Through songs, stories, crafts and games, children learn about God’s love for them.
Vacation Bible School
Get a glimpse of God’s kingdom come to earth as children experience three days of growing in faith and having fun. In the midst of a divided world, we will celebrate ways that Jesus brings us together. Vacation Bible School is a joint ministry of Christ Lutheran Church and Body of Christ Missionary Church for children ages 3 and up.
