The monthly series on creative and contemplative prayer continues with an exploration of walking prayer. The rhythmic movement of walking can center our breathing, hearts, and minds to facilitate conversations with God. Praying while walking is a centuries-old prayer practice adopted by pilgrims, mystics, religious professionals, and ordinary people alike. We will learn about the history of walking prayer, take a walk around our neighborhood while praying, and conclude with a time of reflection on the experience. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Coffee and morning treats will be available.

This workshop is part of a monthly series that will introduce you to different forms of prayer that are both creative (we step outside the “normal” ways of praying) and contemplative (we go deep!) At each workshop, we’ll learn about the prayer practice together, spend some time on our own giving it a try, and then will come back together to reflect on our experience. You’ll walk away with a new or renewed way to pray for the rest of the month.

Future workshops include:
April (date and time TBA): Prayer Beads
May (date and time TBA): Chant
