Children’s Time
On the first and third Sunday of each month, our Atrium teachers host Children’s Time during the portion of the worship service following the Young People’s Message. The group returns in time for communion.
The Atrium is a blessed place where children six and under* can explore our Christian faith, spirituality, and God’s love using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based program. Children are presented a Biblical reading or parable along with an accompanying activity, then invited to explore its Biblical lesson on their own. In addition, students are introduced to: the preparation for worship, the liturgical colors, and the gestures and words they will see and hear in worship. They learn simple prayers and songs that are memorable and repeatable. Children are taught respect and how to be reverent in a space designed for their spiritual development.
*Older siblings often accompany and assist teachers; children ages three and under must be accompanied by an adult
Confirmation
An opportunity for 7th – 9th graders to learn, grow and mature in faith so they can claim it as their own. Students delve into God’s Word, unpack Luther’s Small Catechism, and move out into the world in service.
